Score 67/100 · Drink 1983, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
Light, thin, and lacking fruit, this shallow, short-tasting wine is clearly not one of the better efforts from this mediocre vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 3/83.

About the producer

Batailley
It was on the site of Batailley in 1453 that one of the final battles (or “batailles”) of the Hundred Years’ War took place. Today owned by the Castéja family, the Fifth Growth is renowned for producing wine that is the epitome of classic Claret.
