Tasting notes
Brilliant straw. Very fine, sweet oak, herbs and citrus fruit. Fantastic orange sorbet and lemon palate. Apricot too. Very good oak management and with a refreshing, complex finish. Focused, fine bitter almond finish. (WS)

Querciabella's Batàr (50% Pinot Blanc, 50% Chardonnay) is quite possibly the most elegant, refined white being made in Tuscany today. Those qualities are on display in the sublime 2007. Ripe, succulent peaches, apricots, smoke, honey, spices and sweet toasted oak all come together with unusual grace. The oak is especially well-balanced in this vintage. Simply put, the 2007 Batàr is a gem.

About the producer

Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
