Tasting notes
The 1982 Barolo (magnum) has always been a special wine for me. It is the first older Bartolo Mascarello wine I tasted. Ever since then, I have been captivated by its seductive magic. On this night, it is fabulous. Penetrating aromatics meld into a core of delineated red-fleshed fruit in a Barolo that gains energy with air. This is as classic as classic gets. A masterpiece.

Bartolo Mascarello's 1982 Barolo was a bit sweeter and more perfumed, but still had plenty of underlying verve.
