Tasting notes
The 2000 Barolo, with intense aromas of red fruit, tar, and licorice, is brawny and concentrated, long on the flow, of good ripeness but with a few tannins to shed. Drink: 2006-2016. Importer: Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620

(bottled in May of 2004) Medium amber-edged red. Subtly spicy aromas of red berries, rose petal, marzipan and licorice. Lush and sweet, with a distinctly soft tex ture for Barolo. But also rich, deep and vinous, if not especially complex. Finishes with building, dusty tannins and very good length.
(a sample from a single cask that Torrengo notes may not be representative of the final blend) Saturated red-ruby. Cherry, raspberry and licorice on the superripe, highly aromatic nose. Sweet, very ripe and chewy, with harmonious acids nicely framing the wine's strong, slightly exotic fruit. Finishes with very good length; the serious tannins should mellow further during the wine's last year in barrel. Already shows impressive purity, especially for this very warm year.
