Tasting notes
Good red-ruby. Perfumed, highly nuanced nose combines wild red and black berries, faded rose, mocha, underbrush and subtle earth tones. Very suave on entry, then silky and spicy in the middle. Lush and smooth but light on its feet and impeccably balanced. Most impressive on the long, rising finish, which features very fine tannins and sappy red berry flavors.

Red-ruby. High-pitched, slightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, mocha and licorice. Then nicely rich and pliant in the mouth, with black fruit, mineral and licorice flavors. Opens nicely toward the back, then finishes quite firm and gripping, with a slightly aggressive herbal character.
Cask sample. Very sumptuous nose – seductively perfumed. Round and gorgeous even now! Liquorously delicious. Sweet and round with tannins completely smothered. (JR)
