2006 Clos St Denis

Full red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of rose, red licorice and brown spices. A fine-grained wine of noteworthy finesse, with ineffable perfume to its floral, spice and stony flavors; really reverberates in the mouth. And yet there's also terrific volume for this grand cru, especially in the context of the year. Finishes with big, broad tannins and outstanding length. This will require seven or eight years of cellaring. Laurent notes that his 2007 version of this is from a new source, and that it can't match this one.
