(this and the rest of the Prieur grand crus were aged in 100% new oak): Bright ruby-red. Warm, complex, soil-inflected aromas and flavors of redcurrant, dried tobacco, leather and spices, with a hint of dark fruits emerging with air. Juicy, firm and intense, displaying lovely finesse and energy; much less obviously 2009 in style than most of the preceding wines. This very youthful, delineated, perfumed wine finishes with sweet tannins and excellent length. Should age very well.

Deep, saturated ruby-red. Enticing, perfumed nose offers black fruits, violet, spices, minerals, flowers and smoke. Sweet, suave and concentrated, with a saline element and a deep minerality adding interest to the black cherry and spice flavors. Spicy oak is apparent on the long, vibrant back end. These vines appear to have been picked at just the right time.
