The 2008 Château Fonroque from Fonroque is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. It has a translucent ruby color as well as a very fresh bouquet of sweet red fruits and flowers. It's medium-bodied, lightly textured and slightly dilute on the palate, with firm tannin, yet it has some charm. Drink up.

Savoury, mild nose. Very low key. Nothing out of place but nothing to get excited about either. At least it’s not too tart... Stolid. (JR)

Sweet and sour cherries, red currants, loamy soil notes and roasted herbs make an appearance in this round, surprisingly elegant and pretty wine, which displays good freshness, a nice equilibrium and a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
