Medium red. Aromas of chocolate, tar, pipe tobacco and sweet oak, with a whiff of underbrush. Silky on entry, then firm in the mid-palate, with sweet, slightly rustic flavors of game, chocolate and minerals. Finishes with dusty tannins that also betray a hint of dryness.

Bright, deep red-ruby. Aromatic, soil-inflected nose combines redcurrant, iron and mocha. Dense and sweet but youthfully closed, with underlying minerality and a nobly rustic character. A muscular wine that finishes with chewy tannins and excellent persistence. This really hides its 80% new oak component.
