The 1984 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was a vintage I last tasted in Paris many years ago when it astonished a herd of professional tasters (plus yours truly). Again, served blind, though this time at the estate, it has a neutral nose at first, unfolding with light yellow fruit and lime scents, a very slight algae-like/swimming pool note. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh entry. It is a little more fruit-driven than I recollect with orchard fruit and stem ginger towards the finish, requiring a little more tension. Otherwise, this is very fine. Tasted blind at Olivier Bernard's "4" dinner at Domaine de Chevalier.
