Tasting notes
(100% garnacha) Vivid ruby. Heady aromas of raspberry liqueur, sandalwood, dried rose and smoky minerals, plus a strong whiff of Asian spices. Lush and deeply concentrated but lively, with high-pitched red berry flavors and a smooth, silky texture. The finish is strongly perfumed and seductively sweet, leaving potent strawberry and raspberry notes behind. I looked for tannins but they were nowhere to be found. Extremely seductive and delicious right now.

There is only one barrique of the 2007 Cantos del Diablo, is 100% Garnacha sourced from vines at least 60 years of age. It spent 12 months in its French barrel. Dark ruby-colored, it presents a brooding nose of toasty oak, pencil lead, spice box, incense, and black cherry. Layered and full-flavored on the palate, it has potential complexity and enough structure to evolve for several years. It will be at its best from 2011 to 2020.
