Tasting notes
A sleeper of the vintage, the slightly oaky 2008 exhibits sweet, fleshy raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with hints of flowers, caramel, coffee and chocolate. Consume it over the next 6-8 years.

Very black. Some meaty energy and succulence. Sleek and transparent but certainly not as though it comes from an inferior terroir. Though just a bit drying on the finish. Very sweet and round. Low key. Not too rich or over extracted. Good balance. Lively. Serious wine. I preferred this to the 'special' bottling below. And I did try not to be influenced by the weight of the bottle... (JR)
