Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2020-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Nov 2015
Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Sweet autumn leaves on the nose. Racy and just this side of leathery. Serious in intent. (JR)

A chunky, corpulent, classic style of Pomerol, the 2011 Clos Rene exhibits lots of mocha, caramel, white chocolate and unctuous black cherry characteristics. The acidity is low for a 2011, but the wine’s flesh and fat levels are appealing. Drink this well-made, heady effort over the next 10-12 years.
