Luscious texture, this is significantly more impressive than the 2009 from the first moment. Here you get the broody, savoury quality that you look for in a 2010, with dark hedgerow fruits fruits, well balanced, cocoa bean, sage, capsicum, grilled sandalwood, confident tannic grip and an expansive mid-palate. 50% new oak for ageing.

A wonderful vintage, still young and muscular at 24 years old. Sets La Lagune clearly within its geographic location on the borders of the Margaux appellation, even if it sits within AOC Haut-Médoc, as this has curls of gunsmoke, peonies and crushed mint that unroll in the glass. Aromatic, elegant and juicy, with a wave of dark spices, cassis fruit and crayon on the finish. 50% new oak, 30hl/h yield.

The 2010 La Lagune has a vigorous bouquet with blackberry, briary and tobacco aromas, quite feisty compared to its peers, then settling down and manifesting more red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. This builds nicely towards a cohesive, silky smooth finish with a pinch of white pepper on the aftertaste. Excellent. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.
