Tasting notes
The 2002 Mas Martinet Viticultors Priorat Clos Martinet grew on me over the evening and showed a unique, beautiful nose of raw meat, spice, earth and black cherry. Just like walking into the local butcher shop and with air, this picked up some interesting sage, sawdust and cedar notes. The palate is medium bodied, pure, precise and clean with rich fruit, nice poise and a medium length finish. The nose was outstanding with the palate lagging slightly behind.

The estate’s flagship wine, the 2002 Clos Martinet, is a success for this challenging vintage. A dark ruby/purple color is followed by beautiful aromas of black cherries, plums, blueberries, graphite, and espresso. Enjoy this rich, medium-bodied, elegant, pure 2002 over the next 7-8 years.
