Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Expressive, nuanced aromas of black cherry, leather, smoke, underbrush and pepper. Juicy and firmly built, showing good stuffing but little easy sweetness. Finishes ripely tannic and lightly saline, with excellent energy and a touch of youthful austerity. These vines are now almost 60 years of age, according to Clavelier.

Charming raspberry fruit, firm tannins and a light smokiness. Really impressive concentration of core fruit. Lengthy. Classic, impeccable structure. (RH)
(40% vendange entier): Bright red. Pungent minerality gives the nose a distinctly taut quality. Seriously tight and firm, with red fruit flavors currently cut off by the wine's tough tannic spine. Plenty of energy here but ungiving today, with the stem component obvious. This harder style will need time in bottle.
