Tasting notes
Good full, bright red. Subdued aromas of black cherry, leather and marzipan. Sweet, generous and fairly full, with pliant flavors of red fruits and spices. In a slightly chunky style, finishing with sweet, building tannins and a chocolatey quality. Can't match the 2007 "Il Poggiolo" for definition or sweetness, and the younger wine also shows a firmer structure.

The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Il Poggiolo is a big wine bursting with dark red fruit, leather, licorice and tobacco, all of which come together in a full-bodied, intense style. The 2006 shows good intensity through to the long finish.
