Score 88/100 · Drink 2022-2034, Neal Martin, Sep 2022

The 2002 Clerc Milon comes across a bit fatigued on the nose, especially when compared directly with the d’Armailhac. It does meliorate with aeration and thankfully does gain some vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with quite ripe tannins that frame minty black fruit, touches of liquorice on the finish that is sweeter than expected. If the aromatics were better, than this would deserve a higher score. Tasted at the château.

A bit riper on the nose than its stablemate d’Armailhac. Sweet and round and a little bloody/salty. A bit obdurate. (JR)

A bit sweet and more suppressed than the other wines from the Mouton stable, d'Armailhac and Petit Mouton. Just slightly more tarty. Tarry. Not as ambitious as the first two in this flight, but the wine has an attractive dry finish. (JR)
