Tasting notes
Based on the same blend of grapes, the 2011 Rosso dei Notri shows a slightly darker appearance and a denser, fleshier feel in the mouth. It comes down to the ripeness of the fruit that in this case boasts added opulence and generosity. There’s a touch of sweetness on the close with layers of black cherry, leather and cinnamon. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2018. Stefano Frascolla and Tua Rita have almost single-handedly put Suvereto on Italy’s winemaking map. His latest releases are nothing short of spectacular. The 2011 Rosso dei Notri is a gorgeous entry-level wine laced with dark red berries, licorice, mint and sweet spices. It is best enjoyed over the next few years, while the fruit retains its juiciness and freshness. This is a great showing.
