Red-ruby color. Blackberry liqueur and licorice pastille on the rather exotic nose. Then sweet, floral and fine-grained; superripe but not cooked. As with a few of these 2003s, the (added?) acids dry the tannins, giving the finish a hard edge today. This needs a bit of time to harmonize.

Bright red-ruby. Aromas of blackberry, violet and bitter chocolate. Sweet, suave and fine-grained, with an intriguing iron quality complicating its fruit flavors. Doesn't have the thrust of a classic vintage but this boasts lovely sweetness and rather soft tannins. Like the en Motrot, this should be accessible in its youth.

This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
