2002 La Ricolma

The 2002 La Ricolma is one of the most pleasant surprises in this tasting. Aromatic, light on its feet and silky, the 2002 has aged exceptionally well. Although the 2002 naturally doesn't have the complexity or pedigree of the very finest vintages, it is an absolutely ideal wine for enjoying now. It also has the depth to age gracefully in the cellar for another decade or so. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, mint, white truffle and blood orange add to a real feeling of grace in this exquisite, pretty La Ricolma. Everything is simply in the right place. Today, the 2002 is a wine of pure and total pleasure, certainly moreso than the 2001, 2000 or 1999.
