Score 91/100 · Drink 2001-2016, Robert Parker, Jun 2001

Corino's 1997 Barolo Rocche, a larger cru west of Giachini, exhibits a deep garnet color in addition to a hedonistic, explosive nose of soy, resin, black cherry liqueur, balsam wood, leather, olives, and roasted meats. Stunningly concentrated, fleshy, and flamboyant, with huge glycerin levels in its low acid, full-bodied personality, it is impossible to resist, yet promises to age for 12-15 years. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 334-6700, and Estate Wines, Ltd., San Rafael, CA; tel. (415) 492-9411
