Bright, deep red-ruby. Primal crushed raspberry and game on the nose, with musky suggestions of coffee and mocha. Densely packed and distinctly wild in the mouth, with a juicy quality to the black fruit flavors. This is a bit reduced today but the tannic finish boasts very strong and persistent fruit and mineral flavors.

Medium ruby-red. Sauvage aromas of crystallized black raspberry, violet pastille and animal fur; conveys an impression of noble rusticity. Then dense and sweet in the mouth; larger-scaled than the Champeaux, with a more layered texture. Very rich, broad flavors of black raspberry, leather, minerals and spices. Finishes with big, ripe tannins and excellent length.

This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
