Score 90+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Deep ruby. Blackberry, oak spice, licorice, black pepper and an exotic hint of orange zest on the nose, but this doesn't have the sheer dimension of the Champeaux. Fresh, peppery and penetrating, but less creamy and seemingly higher in acidity. Dense but extremely closed today; the tannins are harder but not dry. Will need at least five or six years of bottle aging.
