2003 Picard

(a blend of 51% merlot, 31% cabernet sauvignon and 18% cabernet franc) Dark red. Aromas of redcurrant, cherry, bitter chocolate, fresh herbs and tobacco. Nicely concentrated and firmly built, with youthfully tangy red berry flavors accented by chocolate mint and black tea. The wine's firm finishing acids suggest that it will develop in bottle for at least another five years-or decant it for at least an hour to allow it to stretch out. This would do nicely in a blind flight of Bordeaux.
