Tasting notes
The 2005 Château Charmail is enjoyable, with a medium-bodied, foursquare style as well as solid amounts of red and black fruits, gravelly earth, and tobacco. Drink this well-made, satisfying Haut-Medoc over the coming 5-7 years.

This sweet, rich, supple-textured, medium to full-bodied wine exhibits a dense purple color and youthful notes of blackcurrant, licorice and spring flowers. This 2005 is impressively endowed, with moderate tannin still to shed. It should drink well for at least another decade. It is a sleeper of the vintage.
Red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of plum, redcurrant, raspberry and smoked meat. Ripe, plush and sweet; harmonious and pliant. Slightly medicinal red berry and licorice flavors show very good breadth, and the ripely tannic finish displays good length. Much more successful than the 2006.
