This St.-Emilion sleeper of the vintage offers a dark ruby/purple color as well as notes of underbrush, forest floor, black currants, and sweet cherries wrapped in subtle toasty oak. Supple-textured and medium-bodied with abundant fruit, it should be enjoyed during its first 7-9 years of life.

Very dark crimson. Rather explosive nose from Dominque Hébrard who seems to be trying hard not to overdo things. Some real freshness and supple fruit. It is probably fanciful to see a relation to Cheval Blanc here but there is the same savour and balance. Well done. (JR)
