Tasting notes
Good bright medium red. Very ripe aromas of tobacco and smoky minerality. Larger-scaled than the Clos de la Barre, with flavors of medicinal black cherry, licorice and wild mint. More tannic too, even a bit dusty and tough, but finishes with sneaky persistence. This should evolve slowly and last well.

Light ruby. Very open – much less concentrated than, say, Lafarge’s. Violets and mushrooms but with a slight lack of freshness and precision. Competent and very fruity but no sign (yet?) of real grunt and complexity. Graininess on the finish. Very close to their Monthelie Champs Fulliot vines… (JR)
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
