Saturated ruby-red. Liqueur-like but subdued on the nose. Then silky and creamy in the mouth, with vibrant flavors of blackberry and violet; this offers lovely inner-palate perfume. Finishes very long and very subtle, with fine, sweet tannins and terrific verve.

Medium ruby. High-toned aromas of sappy black cherry, flowers, iron and licorice, with hints of exotic spices and pear. Sweet, fat, supple and low in acid; very generous. Slow-building, superripe finish features substantial but thoroughly ripe tannins. This is aging in 80% new oak, according to Philippe.
