Tasting notes
Pale greenish straw. Hauntingly floral on the nose with a hint of leesiness. Nicely balanced though perhaps not the most obviously Châteauneuf – almost more like a white burgundy in terms of structure. Very lively. Very long. Very cosmopolitan. (JR)

The 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape is very strong for the vintage. It exhibits a deep ruby/plum/purple color along with notes of black fruits, kirsch, garrigue, lavender, and spice, good depth, and 7-8 years of life ahead of it. (Not yet released) This 60+ acre estate was acquired by the Cazes family (proprietors of Chateau Lynch Bages in Pauillac) in late 2006. The new owners’ first complete vintage was 2007, and it is no coincidence it is the finest wine I have ever tasted from Domaine des Senechaux. Importer: ‘59 Imports, Washington, DC; tel.
