Tasting notes
Complex nose melds citrus skin, minerals, spices and coconut. Big, sappy and ripe, with peach and apricot flavors framed by very good acidity. This rich but elegant wine broadens out impressively on the back end, and finishes with very persistent flavors of pineapple and stone fruit. Philippe Colin notes that the 2001 Truffiere is open now and delicious.

The outstanding 2002 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffiere boasts a nose of minerals, earth, stones, herbs, and spices. Plump, lush, and medium-bodied, it is a fleshy, complex, detailed wine. Armed with gorgeous purity and focus, it also possesses a lengthy, nuanced finish. Drink it over the next 8 years. Importers: Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel.
