Tasting notes
Good fresh, deep medium red. Redcurrant, plum, brown spices, coffee, truffle and mellow nutty oak on the nose. Sweet, silky and pliant, with considerable sex appeal and early perfume to the red fruit and mellow caramel oak flavors. Finishes with broad, sweet tannins and noteworthy persistence.

The 2008 Barolo Brunate is marked by hard, astringent tannins and oxidative flavors. Frankly, it is hard to understand the 2008, as the wine is totally out of balance. Both bottles I tasted were equally disappointing.

Both bottles I tasted were equally disappointing. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026. If Oddero could only find consistency, this range would be significantly more impressive. It’s the details that count, but more often than not, I feel like nuances don’t get enough attention here. Importer: Soilair Selection, New York, NY; tel. (646) 244-4922
