Score 90/100 · Drink 2018-2030, Neal Martin, May 2018
The 2008 Haut Marbuzet has a generous, expressive red cherry and strawberry coulis scented bouquet with hints of kirsch and desiccated orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannin. This feels succulent and harmonious, a seam of spice that surfaces towards the second half, allied with pencil lead and white pepper. There is quite a lot going on here and I can see this ageing with style. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting.

Tasted blind. Heady, fruity nose and a strong saltiness on the palate. Very like sucking stones! (JR)

Looks quite evolved. Perfumed and sweet with lots of chew on the end. Very tart finish. Tannins too much for the fruit. (JR)
