Tasting notes
Bright medium ruby-red. Musky aromas of raspberry, leather, tobacco and smoked meat. Round, broad and lush; a very forward, easygoing wine with a low-acid impression. Finishes with soft tannins and a hint of pepper.

(50% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot and 10% cabernet franc; 12.5% alcohol) Good red-ruby color. Dark cherry, licorice, spicy oak and a hint of green pepper on the nose. Supple and smooth, with a light peppery quality and an impression of lowish acidity. An elegant, moderately ripe wine with an attractive floral aspect, this became juicier and sweeter with aeration.

Toasty, slightly smoky oak. Just a little meaty on the palate, quite light but not thin. Fresh, spicy but rather dry and unforgiving at the end. (JH)
