Giacosa's 1982 Barolo Falletto was spectacular in the way it burst from the glass with an exciting array of dark fruit, menthol, spices and minerals. The Red Label Riservas get most of the attention in 1982, but this bottle showed superb detail, freshness and delineation.

Bruno Giacosa – now run by daughter Bruna – is a cult Nebbiolo producer, that has consistently made some of the best single-vineyard Barbaresco and Barolo from the 1960s onwards. The“red-label” Riservas are some of the finest and most collectable wines in Italy.
