Tasting notes
Medium brick color, the 1977 Hill of Grace flaunts pretty and delicate notes of dried cherries, lavender, Ceylon tea and some leathery, farm yard notes highlighted with a faint incense waft. In the mouth it is delicately fruited and elegant though fading slightly, but still revealing quite pretty and pure flavors through the long finish. It is mature. Bright crimson/ruby. Light nose. Sweet violets on palate entry and then a little light and chewy. Without quite the mid-palate fruit concentration to be great. A tad scrawny. (JR)
Brownish rim but the core is healthy. Sweetness then acidity hit the palate. This wine is not harmonious but is quite refreshing. Clean, light finish. Not fine. The fruit is beginning to fade. (JR)
