Tasting notes
Damoy’s 2008 Chambertin is a dazzling wine. The aromatics, fruit and structural components all come together beautifully in this silky, dramatic Burgundy. I especially like the way the fruit wraps around the palate all the way through to the finish. Sweet red berries, flowers and spices add the final layers of complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. Importer: Peter Weygandt, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800

Very dark crimson. Dense and dry and pretty impressive. Juicy. Very impressive. So much better than the Chapelle-Chambertin! Still very youthful but it definitely deserves its grand cru status. Very youthful. (JR)
