Very dark and blackish. Good evolved rim. Lovely mature complex layered nose. Smoke and meat with warm fumey black fruit too. Truly fine wine – not a copy of a Rhône but very unlike most Australian Shirazes. A true expression of place – not at all like Barossa or McLaren Vale. Sweet and fully evolved. With real purity and energy there. (JR)

This opaque purple-colored, concentrated Shiraz is aged in both American and French oak. Creme de cassis aromas emerge from this sweet smelling, rich, concentrated, full-bodied, dry red wine. There is plenty of cassis fruit, good spice, and a heady, moderately tannic finish. Still young, it requires 1-2 years of cellaring, and should keep for a decade or more. Saturated ruby-purple color. High-pitched, liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, cassis, eucalyptus and exotic spices; just short of roasted. Dense, thick blackberry and eucalyptus flavors caress the palate; big and lush but with sound supporting acidity. Huge, resounding finish features major ripe, dusty tannins. Very impressive.
