Tasting notes
The 2003 Amarone (80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella and 10% Sangiovese) is rich and powerful, with licorice, chocolate, scorched earth, jammy blackberries and leather flavors that flow from the glass. This comes across as somewhat monolithic and very classic, with more volatile acidity than is common these days, but it is very beautiful in its own distinct way.
