Score 85+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Saturated dark ruby. Oak-dominated aromas of bourbon, smoke and roast coffee. Fairly intense flavors of cassis, black raspberry and chocolate, plus sweet oak notes. But rather tart-edged acidity limits the wine appeal, and some drying oak leaves the finish a bit pinched. Will this come into better balance with bottle aging?
