The 2005 L’Ermita comes from a parcel of 70-year-old head-pruned vines of which 85% is Garnacha, the balance Carinena and Cabernet Sauvignon. Inky purple-hued, it has a totally seductive perfume of slate, black cherry, black raspberry, and toasty new oak. Bright ruby. Powerful cherry and dark berry aromas display a brooding, deeply concentrated character, slowly revealing exotic floral and Indian spice qualities. Sharply focused, palate-staining red fruit flavors deliver uncanny power as well as finesse. Finishes with stunning focus and thrust, leaving mineral-drenched red fruits in its wake.
