Tasting notes
The 2009 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is striking. Black fruit, licorice, tar and violets come to life in this vivid, large-scaled Burgundy. The wine continues to gain volume and breadth in the glass as the Bèze muscle becomes increasingly prominent. Clean mineral notes appear on the finish, giving the 2009 its sense of proportion and overall harmony. This is one of the most complete reds I have tasted from Remoissenet. The Bèze showed much better from bottle than it did from barrel.

The Beze showed much better from bottle than it did from barrel. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Remoissenet’s 2009 reds from bottle showed beautifully the two times I tasted them. The sweet spot is in the top premier crus, the best of which approach the level of the grand crus, but at friendlier prices. Importers: Simon N Cellars, Charlottesville, VA; tel.
