Good deep red. Exuberant aromas of redcurrant and tobacco, with exotic hints of peach and mango. Suave and full in the mouth, with a suggestion of truffle. Elegant and fruity, but with a distinct firmness on the end that comes as much from juicy acidity as from the chewy, well-buffered tannins. Ultimately less tannic than the Epenots. These must be among the most impressive 2004s from the Cote de Beaune.

(malo done; 14.3% alcohol) Good deep red. Redcurrant, plum and iron aromas show an almost chocolatey ripeness. Dense, clean and sweet, with strong spice character. This is atypically rich and dense for the year, with no loss of energy. Very long on the aftertaste. Serious juice.
