Score 97/100 · Drink 2000-2006, Pierre Rovani, Apr 2000
Readers fortunate (and wealthy!) enough to have acquired bottles of Domaine Jacques Prieur's 1995 Montrachet will be delighted to learn that it fulfills its extraordinary promise. Tasted recently, its allspice-dominated aromatics lead to a dense, full-bodied mouthful of dried honey, hints of caramel, liquid minerals, and creamed anise. This huge, thick, and massively concentrated wine is eminently drinkable, yet should easily hold for 6 or more years. Imported by William Deutsch and Sons, Armonk, NY; Tel. (914) 273-1221.
