Tasting notes
Even better are the late-released 2010s. The 2010 Condrieu Les Chailees de l’Enfer is fabulous. A stunning nose of spring flowers, honeysuckle, lychee nuts and vague tropical fruits soars from the glass. Medium to full-bodied with great acidity as well as minerality, this beautiful white wine can be enjoyed over the next several years. This iconic estate, long known for its splendid Condrieus, can also do brilliant work with red wines. The Condrieu portfolio is superb. Importer:Martine’s Wine, Novato, CA; tel. (415) 883-0400

Bottled February 2012. 25% new oak. Lacaille on granite. Lovely scent already. Very firm and really something to get your teeth into! Much more citrus than some. Should age well. (JR)
