A sample taken on 9th March and assessed blind at home. A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, cropped at 40hl/ha between 2nd and 16th September. This has a light nose of lime leaf, cooking apple and grapefruit. It does lack vigour and definition. The palate has good weight, lime, green apple and quite yeasty. Very, very primal of course, but this wine takes its foot off the accelerator towards the finish. A second sample tasted in Bordeaux had a little more cohesion and tangible oak with a hint of rosewater on the finish. Drink 2012-2016. Tasted March 2010
Very fat and rich. Flattering and apparently with lots of Sémillon weight. Sweet start but lots of structure and density. Great cheese wine!
