2004 L'Aventure Estate Cuvee

Absolutely spectacular, the 2004 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée, a blend of 60% Syrah, 29% Cabernet, and 11% Petit Verdot, exhibits an opaque purple color, as well as riveting aromas of blackberry liqueur, crème de cassis, licorice, spice, and chocolate on the nose. This opens up beautifully in the glass, showing both intensity, as well as freshness and delineation. Full bodied and powerful on the palate, with a seamless, rich texture, superb freshness, awesome purity, and a blockbuster finish, this straight-up stunning wine should continue to evolve over the next 3 to 5 years, at which point it should drink well for a decade more. (60% syrah, 29% cabernet sauvignon and 11% petit verdot; 15.95% alcohol) Saturated ruby color. Rather bound-up nose suggests blackberry, creme de cassis and bitter chocolate. Juicy and intensely flavored, conveying an impression of strong extract and solid underlying structure. The kirsch flavor is nicely lifted by a floral element. Tannins are firm but not hard. This delivers impressive flavor impact without coming across as particularly sweet. Very long on the finish.
