Bright ruby-red. Sappy, pure aromas of blackberry and pepper. Ripe, dense and pliant, with a subtle sweetness to the black cherry, dark berry, licorice and chocolate flavors. Finishes pure and long, with slightly clenched tannins.

Rather animal nose – not especially appetising. Big and sweet and round with great attempts to cover up any underripe notes. Well made. Furry tannins on the finish. A bit more jagged than most. (JR)
