Mid crimson with a watery rim. Much more powerful nose than the 2004 village wine. Savoury, juicy, lovely – a real step up from the 2004 village wine. Really rather attractive already. Certainly the tannins are not rough or intrusive. Quite silky. (JR)

Medium red. Reticent nose hints at briary dark berries and mocha. A step up in density and sweetness from the village wines, with suppler flavors of musky dark berries, dark chocolate and minerals. Distinctly less peppery. Finishes with riper tannins and very good length.
Good deep red. Ripe, vinous nose combines currant, underbrush and truffle. Clearly the sweetest 2004 to this point, with lovely depth of dark berry and pepper flavor. This offers good density and weight for the year, and has the stuffing to handle its firm, peppery tannins. Jeremy notes that this wine finished its fermentation in the barrel.
