Pale fox red. Light nose with just a hint of severity. Relatively lightweight but with lovely pure sweetness in the middle surrounded by delicate freshness. Tightrope walk but no hint of ladybirds. (JR)

Heady, pretty majestic and sumptuous on the nose. Very pure indeed. SO much going on here...Very long and powerful. Explosive in the mouth with real life. Fred says he finds more energy in this 2004 than in the Musigny 2005. Lots of acidity. And length. Peacock's tail finish again. (JR)

Deep red. Classic aromas of small wild red berries, mocha and underbrush. Broad, sweet and deep-particularly impressive in the context of the vintage-without any loss of clarity or aromatic lift. Wonderfully suave, full wine that's also surprisingly tastable today. Finishes with noble tannins, noteworthy sweetness of fruit and terrific lift. This one should probably be laid down for seven or eight years.

Good dark red-ruby. Pure but subdued aromas of black raspberry, cherry, iron, minerals and smoky earth. This explodes in the glass, showing wonderful silkiness of texture and sweetness of fruit. Offers excellent volume but also quite fine-grained and without any heaviness. Concentrated, sappy, vibrant wine with subtle red berry, mineral and spice flavors. Extremely harmonious even at this early stage. Finishes with noble tannins and outstanding persistence. Mugnier says this wine reminds him of the 2002 "but with more structure and more tannins."
